Joey Landry

August 9, 1963 — February 10, 2019

New Iberia – Joey Paul Landry, 55, of New Iberia, LA went to be with the Lord in Houston, TX after a long struggle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and life long friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Church on the Rock, March 9, 2019, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ryan Derouen officiating. Inurnment will be held at later date at Holy Family Cemetery with Father Ed Degeyter officiating the service.

Joey was a native of Franklin, LA and a resident of New Iberia.

Joey had a sense of humor that would light up the room, he loved to tell jokes…the same ones over and over. Joey was a certified boat mechanic who loved his job at Dauterive Contractors, Joey could fix anything or make anything work, we called him MacGyver. He loved racing boats, Nascar, football, camping and going on vacation with family and friends.

Joey loved taking his son Matthew, whom he was very proud of, and all his friends for a day in the boat teaching them to hydroslide.

He was survived by his loving and supportive wife of 36 years, Pam LeBlanc Landry of New Iberia; his son, Matthew Paul Landry of New Iberia; his father Minos Joseph “Zero” Landry of New Iberia; his sisters, Debbie Landry of Houston, TX and Vicki Chicola and her husband Mickey of Pineville; his brothers, Bryan Wade Landry of New Iberia and Curt Chaudoir of Alexandria; his sister-in-law, Wanda Walker of New Iberia; his brother-in-law’s, Mike Walker and his wife Candy of Lafayette and Wilton Walker of New Orleans; his nieces and nephews, whom Joey inspired and loved dearly, Joshua Wade Landry and his significant other Maddison of Lafayette, Grant Chaudoir and his wife Keisha of New Iberia, Nicole Gunter of Deville and James Chaudoir and his wife Mary of Florida; great nieces and nephews and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kendall Paul Landry; his mother, Sandra Ann Dupuy; his step-mother, Marilyn Landry; his mother-in-law, Grace Moore Walker; his grandparents, Joseph Dupuy, Maurice Hale, O. B. Hale, Leo Paul Landry and Ida Mae Landry.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. G. D. Sagrera, Dr. Son Nguyen and their staffs, for their support and compassionate care throughout his journey.

The family request contributions to help with Medical and Funeral expenses.
