Joan Meaux Broussard

Erath – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Joan Meaux Broussard, 87, will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Clinton Sensat officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, July 21, 2024 beginning at 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, July 22, 2024, beginning at 8:00AM until the time of the services.

A native of Cossinade and resident of Erath, Mrs. Broussard died at 1:06PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Joan loved to read and do word search puzzles. She was a full-time housewife and mother.

She is survived by a son, Randy P. Broussard and his wife Sherry of Erath, a daughter, Jennifer Broussard Teekell and her husband Ken of Erath; a sister, Vivian Meaux Magee; four grandchildren, Megan Broussard Hoffpauir and her husband Ty, Brett Broussard and his wife Lauren, Morgan Broussard Duhon and her husband Taylor, and Bryce Teekell and his Fiancé’ Kaitlyn Doucet; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Paul Broussard; her parents, Oris and Lelia Broussard Meaux; and two brothers, Stacy Meaux and John Etney Meaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Broussard, Bryce Teekell, Ty Hoffpauir, Taylor Duhon, Bryce Johnson, and Nathan Broussard.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for the kindness and compassion they showed to Mrs. Broussard and her family. They would also like to thank Dr. Ronald Lahasky and his staff for all the years of care.
