Jeanerette–A Christian Burial was conducted for Jessie J. LeBlanc, age 82, on Monday, June 27, 2022 . A private entombment took place at St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum.

A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Jessie J. LeBlanc passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 3:44 a.m. at Consolata Nursing Home.

Jessie was a man of many talents. He could repair anything or if need be, he would fashion a new item that he was working on.

He loved his family dearly, he even enjoyed cooking for them.

He also enjoyed raising vegetables in his garden and was known for the huge tomatoes he grew.

Jessie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Florine Anderson LeBlanc; his 4 children, Jason LeBlanc (Rachel), Donna Schilling (Gary), Tina Becnel (Bill), Detra Buteau (Steve); three sisters, Audrey Horn, Mary Schilling (Jimmy), April Cranche (Ray); 10 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernice, and Mildred Legnon LeBlanc; two sons, Wade LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc, and two siblings, Donald LeBlanc, Vernice LeBlanc, Jr.

The family would like to thank the Staff of Consolata Nursing Home for the kindness and care they shared.
