New Iberia– Funeral services will be conducted for Jeremy “JJ” Savoie, Sr., age 54, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Garrett Savoie as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. during the visitation.
Jeremy "JJ" Savoie, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and cornerstone of the New Iberia community, peacefully passed away on February 13, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at his residence. Jeremy's profound love for his family, particularly his cherished granddaughter, Charlie Grace, was the guiding light of his life. His boundless warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him, fostering enduring bonds and treasured memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Jeremy's zest for life was exemplified by his unwavering passion for riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, finding solace and liberation on the open road. From his early days as a Boy Scout to achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, Jeremy's commitment to adventure and exploration was unparalleled. Beyond his love for the outdoors, Jeremy found joy in cooking for his family and made it a daily ritual to visit his parents, Judy, and Van, after work. He also shared a profound connection with his loyal canine companions, George, Bonze, Edgar, and Allen, who held a special place in his heart. Jeremy's legacy of perseverance, camaraderie, and compassion will forever endure, leaving a profound impact on the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he held dear, but his spirit will live on in the countless lives he enriched.
Jeremy “JJ” Savoie is survived by his two children Halie LeBlanc (Anthony), and Jeremy Savoie, Jr.; parents, Van, and Judy Robichaux Savoie; siblings, Jason Savoie (Victoria), Jeffrey Savoie (Loren), Lori Savoie; granddaughter, Charlie Grace LeBlanc; nieces and nephews, Tyler Savoie, Breigh Sonnier, Ali Sonnier, Taylor Sonnier, Logan Savoie, London Savoie; special friends, Patricia Hebert, and Holly Sevin.
“JJ” was preceded in death by his grandparents, John, and Maude Delcambre Robichaux, and Forrest, and Thelma Rivet Savoie.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are his children Halie LeBlanc and Jeremy Savoie, Jr.
