Born in Charenton, LA, and raised on Weeks Island where she also grew up with the love of her life, Donald. Janace loved traveling to Hawaii, later moving there and marrying her childhood sweetheart in 1958 while he was stationed in Pearl Harbor. She also pursued higher education at USL, attending night classes for two years while raising her family. Janace was a vibrant and active member of her community, with a passion for sports and service. She played second base on the Lydia Ladies Softball Team and was a dedicated member of a bowling league for nearly four decades. Janace’s involvement extended beyond athletics; she was a member of the Lydia Jaycees and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as chairman of the Louisiana Pelican State Girls. Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life, as she taught catechism at St. Nicholas Catholic Church for 22 years and remained a devoted parishioner throughout her life.
