James Dalton Wilson, Sr.

Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. James Dalton Wilson, Sr., 73, will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Erath on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 1:00PM with Fr. Daneil Picard officiating and Deacon Tim Marcantel assisting. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Erath on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 9:00AM until time of services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM.

A resident of Erath, Mr. James passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at his home. He graduated from Henry High with the class of 1970. Throughout his life he worked in the oil field as a production operator. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in his yard. He also enjoyed sports such as track, basketball and football. He especially enjoyed watching his granddaughters play softball and his grandson play basketball. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Betty Wilson of Erath; his children, James Dalton Wilson, Jr. of Erath, and Chad Joseph Wilson and his fiance Jackie of St. Martinville; and his grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Wilson, Madison Clair Wilson, Carter Joseph Wilson, and Kate Noelle Wilson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Voris Wilson and Venelia Wilson; his daughter, Tanya Renee Wilson; and his in-laws, Dudley Joseph Derouen, Sr. and Geraldine Lewis Derouen.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Lewis, Glenda Wilson Lewis, Casey Lange, Clearence Guidry, Daniel George, and Micheal Derouen Jr.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Wilson, Jr., Chad Wilson, Carter Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Wallace Wilson, Micheal Derouen, Sr., Nolan Gilbert, Jesse Delcambre, and Randall Perrin.
