Ida Mae Snoddy

New Iberia– A native of Rayne and longtime resident of New Iberia, Ida Mae Snoddy, 84, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 1:30 PM surrounded by family at Iberia Medical Center.

Ida was a retired manager in finance, wife, and a mom of 3 boys. When Ida was not at the casino or cooking on Sundays, you could find her drinking coffee and reading a book. She enjoyed attending church, playing cards, and going to her grandchildren’s various events and sporting games.

She is survived by her three sons; Robert Snoddy, Jim Snoddy (Anita), and Tommy Snoddy (Tracy); five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Carroll Kelley (Pam); sister-in-law Glynn Kelley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband JD Snoddy Jr.; daughter-in-law Donna Snoddy; brother Don Kelley, and her parents George and Mable Gautreaux.

A Memorial Service for Ida Mae Snoddy will be held at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10:30 AM with Father Ed Degeyter officiating.
