Gurness Broussard

New Iberia–Gurness Viator Broussard, 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 5:35 p.m. at Consolata Nursing Home.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Gurness V. Broussard was born on April 16, 1927, to Riley and Beulah Gerard Viator.

Gurness is survived by her grandchildren, Barry Broussard (Natalie) of New Iberia, Brandi Broussard of New Iberia, Becky Thibodeaux (Jamie) of Katy, Texas, Christy Broussard of Colfax, LA, and Jeremey Broussard (Mary) New Iberia.

Gurness was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Broussard; her parents, Riley and Beulah Gerard Viator; three sons, Bobby Broussard, Chris Broussard, James Broussard; one brother, Clifford Viator; one grandson, Bobby “Little Bob” Broussard, and one great-granddaughter, Mary Ellen Broussard.
