Guadalupe "Lupe" T Camacho

New Iberia– A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Guadalupe “Lupe” Trevino Camacho, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11:00AM at Nativity of Our Lady with Monsignor J. Robert Romero officiating. Entombment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, and resume on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church from 10:00AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 6:30PM.

A lifelong resident of New Iberia, LA, Mr. Camacho passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 9:27AM at his residence. He was very active in the Catholic Church: Catechist, Altar Server Coordinator, and Eucharistic Minister. He coached elementary-age sports of soccer, softball, basketball, and tee ball. He enjoyed working in his yard and watching and collecting movies. Mr. Camacho most of all enjoyed spending time with his wife, Polly.

He is survived by his wife, Polly Camacho of New Iberia; his daughters, Kateri Camacho of Youngsville, and Lisa Courville of New Iberia; his son, Tye Camacho of Lottie, LA; numerous brothers and sisters; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially his dearest, “Emmi” (Amelia).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Celia Camacho; his brothers, Paul Camacho Jr., LeeRoy Camacho, Eugene Camacho, and Andrew “Tuffy” Camacho; and many nephews.
