Glenda Jones

Lafayette, Louisiana – A Celebration of Life Memorial Services for Glenda Beth Greer Jones, 71, will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Ruth’s Chris Dallas Steakhouse, 17840 Dallas Parkway, Dallas TX 75287.

Born in Henderson, Texas and long-time resident of Garland, Texas, Glenda was daughter of Gus S. Greer Jr. and Inez York Greer. Glenda earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She spent most of her career as a DR Specialist at Raytheon, then in Academia at the University of Dallas and later in life, she also received her Funeral Director’s Certification.

Glenda had a big heart for animals and was very active in rescue organizations for cats and dogs. She proudly worked on a project for NASA for the Phoenix Mars Lander program but was most proud of raising her beloved daughter. She loved her family and was very family oriented.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus Sim Greer Jr, and Inez York Greer; siblings Wade Greer, Tommy Greer, Martha Greer and her brother Robert Greer joined her in heaven on October 5, 2021.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Jones Mora and her son-in-law Jesus Mora, sister, Deanna Greer; two grandchildren, Ailani Mora and Kennedy Grace Mora and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to your favorite animal shelter in Glenda’s honor.
