George Patrick Champagne

Lafayette- Funeral Services for Mr. George Patrick Champagne, 79, will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 2:00PM with Father Louis Richard officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 9:00AM until the time of service with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM. A lifelong resident of Broussard, Patrick passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a devout Catholic who faithfully attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he enjoyed serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus and singing in the choir. Patrick enjoyed life to the fullest and always cherished spending time with family and friends, especially his morning coffee group at Ton’s. With a larger-than-life personality, he never met a stranger. Patrick was an outdoorsman, and not much rivaled his time spent outdoors aside from his love and dedication to his family and the Broussard community. He is survived by his brother, Donald Champagne, and wife Diane of Broussard; his daughter, Dana Colgin, and husband Clay of Youngsville; his sons, Daniel Champagne and wife Allison of Lafayette, and Dax Champagne of Broussard; his grandchildren, Taylor Bertrand, Stefan Colgin, Cy Colgin, Blake Champagne, Kate Champagne, and Collin Champagne; and his beloved dog, Jupy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Alleman Champagne, and his parents, George and Beulah Mae Champagne. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Champagne, Dax Champagne, Clay Colgin, Stefan Colgin, Cy Colgin, and Blake Champagne. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Collin Champagne, Bryan Champagne, David Bertrand, and Russell Thibodeaux. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337) 837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
