Gary Paul Williams

Lafayette- Funeral Services for Gary P. Williams, 57, will be held at Youngsville Baptist Church on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11am with Pastor Chris Fusilier officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 9am until 9pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 8am until time of services.

Gary Williams, a lifelong resident of Youngsville, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. He had an extensive career path throughout his life. He was a jockey, carpenter, Logistic Operator, police officer for Youngsville, the owner of Gary Williams Construction and was a current City Council Member, for the city of Youngsville.

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, competing in cook-offs, entertaining, and watching LSU football. He adored watching his grandchildren play sports and supporting them in all their endeavors. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.

Gary loved Youngsville and serving the community, he never met a stranger. We will miss his infectious smile and his unique laugh that always put a smile on everyone’s face.

He is survived by his parents, James Williams of Sulfur and Mildred Bourque of Abbeville; his life partner, Sylvia Deville of New Iberia; his children, Jarrid Menard and his wife Shey of Youngsville, Lance Menard and his wife Shannon of Youngsville; his daughters, Phyllis Menard of Lafayette, Rachelle Boudreaux and her husband Mark of Youngsville, Dawn Menard Durke of Youngsville, Tarrah Menard Reaux and her husband Brock of Youngsville, and Kayla Menard Reaux of Youngsville; his grandchildren, Carly Boudreaux, Logan Boudreaux and his fiancé Teionna Everett,  Jancie Broussard and her husband Caleb, Clay Durke (godchild), Blake Menard, Madelyn Menard and her boyfriend Adam Burkett, Seth Menard, Jayce Menard and his wife Kylie, Brittany Menard, Bentley Geisendorff, Brette Reaux, Kinley Reaux, Landon Reaux, Kael Reaux, and Kolt Reaux; his great grandchildren, Owen Broussard, Elliette Broussard and Catherine Garcia; his brother, Randall Williams and his wife Denise of Abbeville, sister Brandi Guidry and her husband Jason of Sulphur; his nephews, Tyler Guidry and Dylan Guidry; and his nieces, Nikki Williams and Amy Williams.

He is preceded in death by his stepmother, Brenda Williams.

Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Menard, Jayce Menard, Clay Durke, Seth Menard, Landon Reaux, and Kael Reaux.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Logan Boudreaux, Kolt Reaux, Bentley Geisendorff, Jarrid Menard, Lance Menard, Eddie Lunsford, Randall Menard, Brock Reaux, Caleb Broussard, and Tucker Guillory.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette 337-837-9887 316 Youngsville HWY will be handling the arrangements.
