Jeanerette–A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Fritz Edward “Papa” Foco, 96, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 1:00PM at St. John the Evangelist with Father Francis Damoah officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 9:00AM until the time of service. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 11:00AM.
Mr. Fritz "Papa" Foco, a man of unwavering dedication and warmth, peacefully left this world on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 10:38PM, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on September 2, 1927, he spent his years enriching the lives of those around him.
Fritz proudly served his country during World War II, demonstrating courage and patriotism during his two years in the Navy. Following his military service, he dedicated an impressive 35 years of his life to McDermott, where his commitment and hard work left an indelible mark.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Fritz found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. A passionate gardener, he cultivated not only flowers and plants but also the bonds of love within his family. His green thumb was a testament to his nurturing spirit, and the beauty he created in his garden reflected the beauty he brought to the lives of those who knew him.
An advocate for connection, Fritz cherished spending time with friends and family. Whether sharing stories over a meal, laughing at gatherings, or simply enjoying each other's company, he valued the bonds that made life meaningful. His kindness and generosity were felt by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his inner circle.
In the age of technology, Fritz embraced the changing times. He stayed connected with past coworkers, friends, and family, using platforms like Facebook to bridge distances and maintain relationships. His commitment to keeping in touch highlighted his understanding of the importance of genuine connections in the digital age.
Fritz "Papa" Foco leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and the importance of staying connected. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the rich tapestry of a life well-lived.
He is survived by his children; Lynn Foco of Jeanerette, Steve Foco and wife, Cheryl, of New Iberia and Annette Hebert and husband, CJ, of Jeanerette; grandchildren; Phillip Foco and wife, Megan, of Baton Rouge, Jeff Foco and wife, Ashly, of New Iberia, Kenny and wife, Amy, of Broussard, Robert Frioux and wife, Shannon, of Youngsville, Matthew Frioux and wife, Seri, of New Iberia, Scott Hebert of Jeanerette, Grant Hebert of New Iberia, Malorie Campbell and husband, Thomas, of Lafayette, Blake Foco and wife, Shyra, of St. Martinville, and Taylor Foco and fiancé, Billy, of New Iberia; great-grandchildren; Eleanor Foco, Anna Foco, Eliza Blake Foco, Emmette Foco, Wyatt Foco, Raegan Frioux, Nathan Frioux, Easton Stuart Hebert, Ashley Sellers, Juliette Elaine Campbell, and Beau Thomas Campbell; son-in-law; Courtney Frioux; and best friend and caregiver; Joe Prejean.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine “MeMa” Britton Foco; his parents; Camille and Ada Foco, Sr.; a daughter; Cristie Frioux; his siblings; Allen Foco, Felix Foco, Camille Foco, Jr., Hennie Foco and Irvin Foco, Helena F. Duval, and Ronald Foco; and a daughter in law; Myra Foco.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Phillip Foco, Jeff Foco, Joe Prejean, Blake Foco, Matthew Frioux, Easton Hebert.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Keny Foco, Robert Frioux, Scott Hebert, and Grant Hebert.
The family would like to thank Dr. Falterman and a special thanks to his many caregivers.
