Frank William Joseph Ellis

New Iberia– A memorial service will be held for Mr. Frank William Joseph Ellis, 71 on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home of New Iberia. The visitation will take place on Saturday from 1:30PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Frank W.J. Ellis passed away on May 19, 2022, at Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Frank was born in New Iberia and lived there most of his life, until moving to Lafayette in 1994.  He worked as a Probation and Parole Specialist for the State of Louisiana for 21 years.  After retiring with the state, he served as the Warden with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office.  Frank was skilled in firearms knowledge and instruction, and after retiring from law enforcement, he worked for Field and Stream in Lafayette and Gander Outdoors in Breaux Bridge as a Product Specialist/Key Lead in Shooting Sports and Firearms Manager.

He was a graduate of Catholic High School in New Iberia and attended Louisiana Tech University.  In addition to spending time with his grandchildren, Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching baseball, especially the Houston Astros.

Survivors include his sister, Patricia Ellis Durbin (James) of Orlando, Florida; his nephews and nieces, Mr. and Mrs. James Durbin, Jr. (Pamela) of Covington, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Durbin (Colleen) of Davenport, Florida, and Erin Durbin Craig (Jeff) of Manhattan, Kansas and grandniece Isabella Durbin and grandnephew Jeffrey Craig.  Survivors also include his Stepdaughter, Crissy Brazill (Zac); and Stepson, Tyler Ebling (Megan); and four grandchildren, Emma Hargroder, Owen Brazill, Isla Ebling, and Austen Ebling all of Lafayette, Louisiana; his cousin, Karen Ellis Conway of Harper, Texas; and companion, Martha Acosta of San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie-Mae (Nicholson) and Frank E. Ellis.
