Jeanerette–A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Flo Rita Broussard, age 100 on Tuesday; December 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Francis Damoah as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday; December 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. before the funeral mass.

Flo Rita Broussard, age 100, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving daughter and son. Born on March 20, 1924, in Jeanerette to Frank and Olympe Songne, Flo Rita lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in faith, family, and community. She was married to her beloved husband, Harold Broussard, Sr., for 54 wonderful years until his passing in February 1995. Together, they shared a love for dancing and camping, creating countless cherished memories. Flo Rita also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, a pastime that brought joy and connection throughout her life.

A dedicated and hardworking individual, Flo Rita served as a clerk at CLECO Electric's Jeanerette office for 48 years, leaving a legacy of commitment and reliability before her well-earned retirement. She was a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where her steadfast faith and devotion to God guided her life. Flo Rita will be remembered as a gentle, loving soul whose strength and grace inspired everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Flo Rita is survived by her children, Patricia Migues, Harold Broussard (Becky); six grandchildren, Tanya Rosamond, Tasha Richardson (Brad), Jarrod Migues (Tanya), Harold Broussard, III (Marie), Keith Broussard (Rebecca), and Donavan Broussard (Sara); 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Gayle Clement; numerous nieces and nephews; very special neighbors and friends, Gerald, and Elaine Landry

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Harold Broussard, Sr.; her parents, Frank and Olympe LeBlanc Songne; her siblings, Ida Mae Mitchell, and Walter Songne; son-in-law, Jerome Migues.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Harold Broussard, III., Keith Broussard, Donovan Broussard, Jarrod Migues, Stephen Rosamond, and Brad Richardson.

Honored to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are Gerald Landry, Jonathon West, and Thomas Rosamond.

The family would like to thank Audubon Hospice for the care and support they shared with their mother.

A very special thanks and appreciation to the caregivers, Pam Racca, Eva Derouen, Tootie Prince, and Jenny for the loving care they shared.
