Eugene "Gene" Michael Ladouceur

Jeanerette– Mr. Eugene “Gene” Michael Ladouceur, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2021 after a brief illness.  He was a native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, “Gene” as he was affectionately known, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  After being Honorably Discharged, he returned home, and learned the skill of welding. He was a Master Welder and worked at many of the local vessel fabrication companies in the area. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and socializing with friends. In keeping with his wishes, there will be a private family inurnment at a later date.

He is survived by his two sisters, Edres Blanchard of Jeanerette, Paulette Alleman of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Amos Ladouceur and Hazel Hebert Ladouceur; brother, Louis Ladouceur; and one nephew, Steven Paul Blanchard.

The family would like to thank Iberia Medical Center and Hospice of Acadiana for their care and compassion.  The family would also like to thank the staff and management of Village De Vie Apartments for always checking in on him.
