Elodie V. Patterson, cherished mother, devoted friend, and guiding mentor, left this world peacefully on May 23, 2024, at the age of 69, in the embrace of her loving family at her residence in New Iberia. Her departure marks the end of a life rich in warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Elodie's legacy is not only defined by her roles as a mother and friend but also by her gentle spirit and compassionate heart, which touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. For 45 years, she shared a profound and enduring love with her husband, Keith, a partnership built on mutual respect, support, and boundless affection.
Elodie found joy in life's simple pleasures, finding solace in the tranquility of beach vacations and delight in the act of preparing meals for her cherished family during holidays and gatherings. Her appreciation for the uncomplicated beauty of existence reflected her own character – humble, sincere, and genuine. Though she may have left this earthly realm, Elodie's essence will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her grace, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will endure for generations to come.
Mrs. Elodie Patterson is survived by her husband of 45 years, Keith Patterson; one son, Blake Patterson (fiancée Shaye) of New Iberia; one brother-in-law, Tim Patterson, and her little sidekick and fur baby, Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kearns, and Betty LaBauve Voorhies, one brother, Glenn Voorhies, and another fur baby, Chloe.
The family would like to thank members of Calcutta House and Hospice of Acadiana for the tremendous care and support they shared with Elodie and the rest of the family, also a special thanks to Roxanne Mannia, Cindy Kight, and Maryann Page.
