Ella Mae Rita Rogers Verret

Jeanerette– Funeral services will be conducted for Ella Mae Rita Rogers Verret,87, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at David Funeral Home Chapel of Jeanerette with Pastor Jerry Fitch and Pastor Larence Babin officiating. Entombment will follow at Loisel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

A native of Louisa, LA, and resident of Jeanerette, Ms. Ella Mae passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 PM at her residence. She enjoyed going to church and prayed for any person she met. She had a very strong love for Jesus Christ and wanted all to know everything about him. Mrs. Ella Mae enjoyed playing Scrabble with her seven sisters. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Mrs. Ella Mae enjoyed writing poems to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren on special occasions. She enjoyed singing.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Davis Joseph Verret; two daughters, Wendy Newton and her husband Micheal of Jeanerette and Ella Bagala and her husband Micheal of San Augustine, TX; two sons, Dennis Verret and wife Karen of Broussard and Wesley Verret Sr. and wife Dana of Jeanerette; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, and seven sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Theo Rogers and Mae Ella Lormond, and one sister Linda Rogers Landry.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Shane, Scott, and Stuart Bagala, Dustun and Wesley Jr. Verret, and Lee Newton.
