He often volunteered for the Broussard Community Fair. He was active in the PTA of St. Cecilia School. With his white hair and beard, Edgar played Saint Nicholas at the Broussard family’s annual Saint Nicholas celebration for many years.
Edgar loved spending time with his family. He was affectionately known as Pee paw to his grandchildren. In his early years, his passion was fishing and crawfishing. Later, he focused on shrimping and happily spent time at Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge during shrimp season. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his fruit and pecan trees.
Edgar was known for his chocolate pecan candies and he made the best fried shrimp at family gatherings. He was a handyman and frequently shared his time and talents helping family and friends. His humor, warmth and love will be missed.
