Erath – A Gathering of Family and Friends for Eddie James Simon, 64, will be held at a later date. A native of Abbeville and a resident of Erath, Eddie passed away at 9:04PM on Monday, June 10, 2024 at his residence. He was a family man who cherished his time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. He was known for his love of Christ and spread the word of God with everyone around him. He is survived by his wife, Elzina “Marie” Simon; two sons, Nicholas Simon and his wife Stacy of Erath and Duston Simon of Erath; a daughter, Tabitha Lowery and her husband David of Erath; six grandchildren, Lindsay Lowery, Nicholas Simon, Jr., Evan Lowery, Kaden Cronin, Bella Simon and Darla Simon; a sister, Darlene Derouen and her husband James; and two brothers, Clarence Simon, Jr. and Carl Simon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. and Barbara Simon; a brother, Ricky Simon; and a sister, Theresa Shackelford.
