Lafayette - Donna Hebert Rogers, 62, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, in Lafayette, Louisiana. In lieu of a funeral, a Celebration of Life will be held on what would have been her 63rd birthday, October 26, 2021. These arrangements will be announced at a later time.
Mrs. Rogers was born on October 26, 1958, in Erath, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Joseph Rogers, Jr.; her two sons, Daniel Justin Rogers and Darryl Keith Rogers; her grandchildren, Taylor Denise Rogers and Kalup Rodney Broussard; her sisters and brothers, Paul Hebert, Jr., Randall Hebert, Debra Hebert, Lona Hutchinson, and Charles Hebert; her step-brothers and step-sister, Larry Hutchinson, Wanda Primeaux, and Harlow Hutchinson; her sisters-in-law, Donna Mallet, Sandra Tamporello, Susan Bonin, Roxanne Derouen, and Gaylene Tidmore; and countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Lorphy Hebert, Sr. and Nona Faye Richard; her stepfather, Harold Hutchinson; her brothers, Russell Hebert and Gordon Hebert; and her stepbrother Hugh Hutchinson.
Mrs. Rogers was the epitome of a matriarchal figure in the Lafayette community. There is not one person she met that she did not affect in a warm way with the aura of light and positivity that seemed to follow her around so naturally. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, dedicated employee, supportive co-worker, and friend to so many different people. Whomever she was to you, she was fully accepting, supportive, present, kind, selfless, compassionate, understanding, and generous, as she was to all she encountered. She radiated beauty, patience, intelligence, and grace. Her entire family has also always been filled with light, acceptance, love, forgiveness, and generosity, and it all stemmed and flowed from her.
Her favorite things included yellow roses, red cardinals, pizza, Celine Dion, Gone with The Wind , and the entirety of her family. She loved to experiment in the kitchen with new meals; watch the Harry Potter movies, as well as the Hallmark channel and every Christmas show or movie that came out; watch the birds in her backyard use the bird feeders; fish with her family on quiet days; listen to her favorite music; and take care of her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Rogers was taken from the world abruptly and much too soon, but she is leaving behind quite the legacy of people who will do everything in their power to embody the personality traits she had that let the world shine a little more brightly. She gave those around her strength and willpower to always keep going, no matter what struggles they were facing at the time. She was the rock her family leaned on and was their whole world. She will be dearly missed.
David Funeral Home of Lafayette 316 Youngsville Hwy. 337-837-9887 was in charge of arrangements.
