David Thomas Sanders

New Iberia- A memorial service will be held for David Thomas Sanders, 83, at Trinity Baptist Church, 1100 Bank Ave New Iberia, LA on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11:00AM.

Mr. Sanders was a native of Cotton Valley, La. and a longtime resident of New Iberia, LA. He passed away at Manor North Nursing Home in New Iberia in July 28, 2022.  David graduated from Franklin High in 1956.  David was very giving and always helping people.  He loved to joke around with everyone trying to make everyone feel happy and joyful.  Even in his last days he would still joke around with everyone.  He was loved by many, and he will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Sanders; his sons, David B. Sanders and Brent S. Sanders; his former spouse, Catherine Long; sister, Mrs. Russell (Patsy) Sanders LeBlanc; and brother, Harold E. Sanders.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Agnes, Jesse, Francis and Elizabeth; and his brother Charles.

We would love everyone to join us in celebrating David’s life. This isn’t a time to be sad at his passing but to remember how special he was to all of us and to celebrate the time we got to spend with him.
