David Hidalgo

Lafayette–A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for David Hidalgo, age 76, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Sacred Heart of Jesus at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Michael Delcambre, and Fr. Louis Richard as Co-Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

David’s first love was his family, friends, and second love was fishing. He was married to his love of 51 years, Suzanne, and together they raised three cherished children.

David found immense pride and happiness in watching his grandchildren grow, play, and succeed. He will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and dedication to his loved ones.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne Gianelloni Hidalgo; Monica Begnaud (Timothy), Anthony “Tony” Hidalgo (Elayna), Matthew “Matt” Hidalgo, Sgt. USMC; grandchildren, Connor Stevens, 1st Lt. USMC, Emma Williford (Samuel), James Hidalgo, Hampton Hidalgo, Sterling Hidalgo; siblings, Veronica Rodrigue-Redman, Ralph Hidalgo, and Havard Hidalgo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Lillian Andrepont Hidalgo; one brother, Burt Hidalgo.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Anthony Hidalgo, Matthew Hidalgo, Connor Stevens, Timothy Begnaud, Samuel Williford, and Timothy Shaw.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Robin Roy, Taylor Rock, and Lonnie Jensen.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for the kindness and support they shared.
