David Duhon

Erath- A Mass of Christian Bural for Mr. David Duhon, 76, will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:00AM with Fr. Sensat officiating. Burial will follow at Bancker Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Friday, October 20, 2023 from 8:45AM until time of services with a recitation of the rosary at 9:30AM.

A past resident of Erath, Mr. David passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He loved working in his yard, especially mowing his grass. He also enjoyed fishing and listening/dancing to live bands. He was a devout Catholic and recited the rosary at St. Frances Nursing Home, where he was a resident for some time. He was also a prankster and would bring joy to people wherever he went. For 20 years, he managed Vernon’s Grocery Store, as he enjoyed working with the public. Later in life, he discovered his love for art. He would create beautiful coloring pages for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by many.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Duhon Eckholdt and her husband C. Scott of Eunice; his granddaughters, Ashton Elizabeth Eckholdt and Madison Alexandra Eckholdt; and his nieces, Melani Netto of Carencro, Rainie Romero of Texas, and Meagan Bunch of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mergist Duhon; his parents, Opta Duhon and Orita Henry Duhon; his brother, Donald Duhon, Sr.; and his nephew, Donald Duhon, Jr.
