Scott Girouard

New Iberia– Funeral services will be held at a later date for Scott Girouard, 59. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Scott passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2023 at his home.

Scott lived a life rich in adventure and community. In his earlier days, he found joy in the thrill of canoe racing, the quiet contemplation of hunting and fishing, and the camaraderie of scouting, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. His time at the New Iberia City Park pool not only provided him with summer employment but also with enduring friendships. Over the past 20 years, Scott dedicated himself to serving the Iberia Parish School Board, leaving a lasting impact on the community he cherished. Known for his captivating storytelling, Scott's warmth and ability to connect with others ensured that his stories will be treasured by those who had the privilege of hearing them, a reflection of the deep love he held for his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Gloria Leleux Girouard; his sister, Leather Girouard; and godsons, Alex Gisclair and Kevin Ewing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Girouard.
