Lafayette ~ Funeral Services for Colten Jude Derise will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, December 03, 2024, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Pastor Joseph Aranza officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM until the time of service on Tuesday, December 03, 2024, at Frioux- David Funeral Home.

He was so very special and was so from the start. We held him in our arms, but mainly in our hearts. And like a single drop of rain, that on still waters fall, His life did ripples make and touched the lives of all. He's gone to play with angels, in heaven up above, so we keep our special memories, and treasure them with love. Although our darling son, was with us just a while, he’ll live on in our hearts, and with a sweet remembered smile.

He is survived by his parents, Donald Derise and Hayley Gerard; a maternal grandmother, Jill Soileau; paternal grandparents, Glenn Berthelot and his significant other Sandra Freeman, and Annette LeBlanc; maternal great-grand parents, Sue Derise and Donald Boyer; three uncles, Scotty Thibodeaux (Godfather) and his wife Taylor, Dylan Maturin and his wife Victoria, and Michael Maturin and his significant other Kristy Bailey; three aunts, Ashley Saunier and her husband Joshua, Amber LeBlanc, and Jessica LeBlanc (Godmother); twelve first cousins, Ellie, Marlie, Am'elie, Elizabeth, Laikynn, Allison, Camille, Stetson, Nyla, Avery, Coen, and Kinsley.

He is proceeded in death by a maternal grandfather, Jude Gerard; maternal great-grandfather, Lawless Gerard; and paternal great-grandfather, Russell Derise.

I wanted to take the time to sincerely thank everyone for their donations to Colten’s Funeral arrangements. We made a GoFundMe with no expectation that we would meet the goal, but in less than 24 hours our goal was met. We are grateful to each and every one of you that has donated and to the people who were not able to make a money donation, thank you for sharing it with your family and friends, and praying for us. We are overwhelmed with gratitude during this hard time. Thank you again.
