Clyde Joseph Cormier

Abbeville- Funeral Services for Clyde Joseph Cormier, 94, will be held in David Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2pm with Fr. Francois Sainte-Marie officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 9am until time of services with a recitation of the rosary at 11am.

Clyde was born on December 19, 1927, to Verly and Belzere Cormier. Clyde passed away on April 20, 2022, at the age of 94.

Clyde was a loving, caring and supportive person. He was the most honest and loyal man, and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. He was a hardworking man and a wonderful father, grandfather, and brother. Clyde was married to the love of his life, Viola, for almost 70 years, and missed her dearly since she passed away last year.

Clyde is survived by his sons, Jeffery D. Cormier (Mary), and James Howard Cormier (Roxanne); his daughters, Karen Bradley (Chuck) and Stephanie Richard (Michael); his eight grandchildren; his thirteen great grandchildren; his brother, John Eddie Cormier; and his sisters, Beulah Benoit and Joyce Bourque.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Viola Arabie Cormier; his parents, Verly and Belzere Cormier; his grandson, Damian Michael Durke; his sisters, Bella Landry (Jasper), Ella Begnaud (Leo), and twin sister, Clara Daigle (Jake); his sister-in-law, Pauline Cormier; and his brothers-in-law, J.D Benoit and L.J. Bourque.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Abbeville General Hospital, Vermilion Healthcare, and Hospice of Acadiana for the excellent care and loving kindness shown to Clyde.
