Christopher Twain Veazey

April 15, 1951 — January 4, 2023

Abbeville - Memorial Services will be held at a later date for Christopher Twain Veazey, 71, who passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Christopher Veazey was a resident of Abbeville, La, but lived most of his life on Pecan Island. He was a commercial fisherman and spent most of his earlier years earning a living fishing and shrimping. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and time spent visiting with family and friends. He was known to many as “Uncle Chris,” because he had a way of making people smile and feel better when they were around him. His motto was, “Don’t worry, be happy.”

He is survived by his wife, Paula Veazey; a son Marshall Ryan Veazey of Pecan Island, La; two daughters: Abigail Veazey Crochet of Bell City, La and Samantha Veazey Lofton of Olla, La; one step-daughter Naomi Lopez of Abbeville, La; seven grandchildren (Everett, Westin, Ava, Sophie, Ezryn, Madison, Hunter); two brothers: Joel Veazey and Donnie Veazey; four sisters: Suzette Broussard, Karan Abshire, Tammy Johnston and Kathy Frith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Marshall and Gloria Veazey; a brother Mitchell Veazey; and a granddaughter Allison Rae Broussard.
