Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Chad Wallis, Sr., 56, will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:30PM with Fr. Michael Russo Officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 9:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 8:00AM until time of services. Mr. Chad was born in New Iberia on July 26, 1966. As a child, he helped his grandfather on the farm. Chad was always a hard worker. He worked many jobs in his lifetime, mostly on barges welding pipelines. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially going to his sister Cindy Hilton’s house to pick pecans. He was a very generous person always sharing what he had with others. He was someone you could always count on. He was a very good and dedicated husband to his wife, Wendy. He never forgot a holiday and always gave her a gift and always treated her with respect. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. His wife would like to thank the following: St. Joseph Hospice doctors, nurses, and staff, Hospice of Acadiana doctors, nurses, and staff, Allen and Shirley Touchet, sister and brother-in-law, David and Cindy Hilton, Sister and brother-in-law Eric and Kelly Bourque, Brent and Elaine Romero, Rickey and Tina Wallis, George and Sharron Wallis, and LJ Suire and his significant other, Lisa. His wife would also like to give a special thanks to her mother-in-law, Jane Vice, whose dedication, and support is very much appreciated. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Eskind Wallis of New Iberia; his mother, Jane Vice of Youngsville; his step-mother, Goldie Wallis; his sons, Christopher Wallis and his wife Rebecca of Abbeville, Chad Wallis, Jr. and his wife Skylier of Houma, Chase Wallis of Mississippi, and Bryce Broussard and his wife Shyanne of Alaska ; his daughters, Christy Leboeuf and her husband Kevin of Youngsville, and Nicole Wallis of Youngsville; his sister, Cindy Hilton and her husband David of Youngsville; his half-sisters, Wendy Romero and her husband Toby of New Iberia, and Vicki Buteau of Lydia; his half-brother, Joseph Eli Wallis, Jr. and his wife Jessica of New Iberia; eight grandchildren; and his numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Eli Wallis, Sr.; his grandfather, George Wallis Sr.; his grandmother, Anna Lee Wallis; his grandfather, Robley Vice; his grandmother, Eunice Touchet Vice; his uncle, Lawrence (Larry) Vice; his godchild, David Hilton, Jr.; and his first cousin, Daniel Vice. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Joseph Wallis, Jr., Kevin Leboeuf, David Hilton, Sr., Hunter Hilton, Allen Touchet, and George Wallis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Eli Wallis, Jr. Eric Bourque, Brent Romero, Hubert Vice, Jr., LJ Suire, Cory Hilton, and Toby Romero.
