Carolyn "Cally" Bonin Dore

New Iberia– a Christian funeral services will be held for Mrs. Carolyn Bonin Dore, 71, on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 2:30PM at the Church on the Rock, 1411 E. Admiral Doyle Dr., New Iberia, La. with Pastor Ryan DeRouen officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 9:00AM until the time of the service. Visitation will take place at the Church on the Rock.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, “Cally” as she was affectionately known passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at a Lafayette Hospital. Mrs. Dore enjoyed tending to her flowers, relaxing on her porch while listening to music and enjoying her coffee, and she enjoyed the company of her family and friends.  She was a people person and loved talking to everyone.  She would get the entire family together multiple times a year and loved to host.  She was the best at bringing people together.

She loved to shop at the ARC of Iberia and Goodwill looking for those special finds and knick-knacks. Mrs. Dore began a Ladies Supper Club composed of her old friends and the “ARC Ladies”.  Mrs. Dore was a kind and giving woman. She would often help others in need, whether buying groceries for a family, or a toy or candy to brighten a child’s day. Carolyn was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alphen “A.J.” Dore of New Iberia; children, Shannon Dore Segura and husband Kelly of New Iberia; Sean Dore and wife Kristen of Lafayette; grandchildren, Dylan J. Dore of New Iberia, Tristi Elisabeth Dore and Brooksi Kai Dore both of Lafayette; 2 sisters, Kathleen “Kat” Patin and husband Bob of Lafayette, Suzanne Bonin of Youngsville; brother, William “T-Boy” Bonin; sister-in-law, JoAnn Bonin; and her four legged companion, Brax.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton and Therese Landry Bonin; brothers, Raymond R. Bonin, Dalton Bonin Jr., Farrell A. “Shorty” Bonin, Cornell Bonin; sisters, Geraldine “Gerry” Romero, Maxine “Mac” Begneaud; 4 nephews, Shane Walker, Dalton Bonin III, Robin Bonin, and Raymond Bonin; and 1 niece, Bridget Bonin.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Cory Bonin, Jory Bonin, Farrell Bonin, Rodney Bonin, Ryan Dore and Rex Stokes.

The family would like to thank Nurse Morgan Bilar with Lafayette General Medical Center for the compassion shown to Carolyn’s family during this difficult time.
