Carmen "Wayne Patrick" Bayard

New Iberia– A graveside service will be conducted for Carmen “Wayne Patrick” Bayard, age 77, at a later date.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Carmen “Wayne Patrick” Bayard passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 3:57 p.m. at Iberia Medical Center.

He was the owner and operator of Bayard Aluminum Craft for over 40 years. He served his country proudly in the Army National Guard for nearly 4 years.

In his spare time, he would go to the retirement homes and play music in an effort to entertain the residents.

He enjoyed being with his children; going hunting, fishing, camping, and just about anything outdoor just so they could spend time with children. He was also an aircraft pilot and enjoyed spending time with his best buddies.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Tracy Bayard; children, Brayton Bayard, Kristy Barker (Terry), Brannon Bayard (Sonya), Wayne “Buddy” Bayard (Natasha), Brooksie Bayard; brother, Baron Bayard; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent and Lucy Breaux Bayard; one daughter, Melissa Bayard, and one sister, Mary Betty Arcement.
