Jeanerette – A Mass of Christian Burial for Brian D. Helms, age 53, will be held at
2:00PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Thursday,
February 13, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Brian took his last breath on Friday, February 7, with his eldest son, Tad at his bedside.
Just four days before passing, he celebrated his 53rd birthday at Houston Methodist
Hospital with his eldest daughter and hospital staff. He was in recovery from a double
lung transplant and his goal was to return home to his two younger children, his mother,
and grandmother. Although this was not the outcome anyone had hoped for, he is now
at peace. His daughter, Paige will come to lay beside him at Beau Pre when he is finally
laid to rest.

Brian was a great father and provider for his family. His most cherished moments were
spent with his children, family, and friends. He was exceptionally hard working but also
knew how to have a good time. Camping, fishing, and hunting is how he enjoyed his
time away from work. He was a talented cook and made sure everyone ate well at
events and gatherings. Generosity and dependability were two of his most memorable
qualities, although there were many more. He is forever loved and will be deeply
missed.

He is survived by his four children: Allyson, Tad, Madison, and Ross Helms; his
grandchild, Parker Gene Helms; his mother, Janis Louviere Helms; his grandmother
Lorraine Louviere Daigle; his godmother, Cindy Guillotte; his godfather, Brad Louviere.
He is also also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Chad & Kay, Kevin &
Lynette, and Craig & Kelly Helms; and his nieces and nephews: Lanzi, Lauren, Devin,
Reid, Dylan, and Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paige Elizabeth Helms; father, Wallace P.
Helms; his grandfather, Andy Louviere; step-grandfather, Ira Daigle; his grandparents,
Roy Helms and Ruby Manning Helms.

Pallbearers will be Devin, Chad, Reid, Tad, Kevin, Craig, Ross, and Dylan Helms.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lucas Helms and Bucky Hebert.

Frioux-David Funeral Home, 400 Provost Street, Jeanerette, LA, 70544, 337-276-5151, will be handling the arrangements.
