A native of Youngsville and a resident of Lafayette, Mr. Comeaux died at 9:23PM on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Comeaux was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired in February 2024 from the electrical construction industry as a state licensed electrical contractor since 1978. His father taught the trade to him and his brothers, and he was proud to teach his son, Nicolas, and grandson, Gage, the family trade. He called all his clients “My Friends,” many of which became his lifelong friends. He was active in the Youngsville Catholic Church and Community for many years and served on the Youngsville City Council from 1982 – 1988. One of his hobbies was dancing. This is where he met his lifelong dancing partner and wife of 27 years, Roxie. He described dancing with her as dancing with power steering, never missing a beat. Another hobby was motorcycle riding, which took them all over the USA. They joined the Goldwing Road Riders Association in 2002. They were selected Couple of the Year 2003 for the Lafayette Chapter, LA. State Couple 2004, and Region Couple 2005. From 2008 – 2011, they also served as Louisiana State Directors. Fishing was another hobby he enjoyed while visiting with his dear friend, Clayton Meaux, and his family at their camp. So many good friends, great memories, and stories were made throughout the years. As many would say, he was such a rare and caring guy. He was one of a kind and well respected in his field. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Roxie Vercher Comeaux of Lafayette; two sons, Nicolas Comeaux (Brittany) of Youngsville and Craig J. Meyers (Ginny) of Lafayette; three daughters, Britt Mathiew (Gabe) of Kaplan, Denice Duhon of Lafayette, and Adrienne Zembower of Lake Charles; twelve grandchildren, Gage Duhon (Courtney), Alec Comeaux, Lili Comeaux, Zachary Zembower, Abigail Zembower, Catherine Zembower, Dylan Meyers, Colby Meyers, Chase Meyers, Kason Mathiew, Lex Wagner and Ava Wagner; three brothers, Steward Comeaux (Dianne), Jamie Comeaux, and Anthony Comeaux; two sisters, Jacqueline Barbin (Mike) and Shirley Ransonet. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Allen and Joycelyn G. Comeaux; and one brother, Jerome “Jerry” Roy Comeaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Nicolas Comeaux, Gage Duhon, Alec Comeaux, Dylan Meyers, Colby Meyers, and Chase Meyers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charley Hutchens, Kirk Thibodeaux, Glenn Lege, Clayton Meaux Jr. and Robley Menard.
