A native of Yazoo City, MS and resident of Lafayette, LA, Mrs. Brenda Williams Barrett passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. A devoted homemaker, Brenda was a passionate mother whose greatest achievement was her family. She cherished her five furry companions. Brenda’s culinary skills were legendary, particularly her sought-after cornbread dressing, which was the highlight of every family gathering. She was an entrepreneur at heart, opening several small businesses, but her pride and joy was her floral business. With a remarkable eye for decorating, she created stunning floral arrangements that brightened the lives of many. As a grandmother to Maddie, Brenda found immense joy and fulfillment, often reflecting on the blessing that her granddaughter brought to her life. Known as the neighborhood mom, her home was always filled with laughter, bikes scattered across the yard, and kids who felt welcomed and loved. Brenda was a steadfast support to her sons, always making time for heartfelt conversations, advice, and quiet moments of understanding. Her family was her rock, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Brenda is survived by her devoted husband, Wallace Barrett of Lafayette; two sons, Sonny Barrett and wife Audra of Litchfield, IL, and Maury Barrett of Pensacola, FL; one grandchild, Madison Barrett; and five fur babies, Brownie, Crash, Shadow, Bobby, and Boi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John, and Mildred Williams; her sister, Mary Simmons; and three fur babies, Sammy, Sweetie, and Honey.
