A native of Rayne and a resident of Broussard, Mrs. Hebert died at 3:25PM on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Camelot of Broussard. She was a graduate of Northside high school in 1969. Married to Donald for 50 years, they shared a couple of businesses and raised their 3 children. To know Betty was to love her. She was a selfless woman and indeed a giver. She was the kindest & most genuine woman who cared for everyone so deeply. Her compassion for people never went unnoticed. She spent most of her life supporting those she loved, in any way she could. She was fun loving and had a wonderful sense of humor. Over the years she developed many talents- she was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed cake decorating. She was a true Cajun in her passion for food, music, and family. Over the years, she enjoyed preparing big meals so everyone could gather. She remained strong in her faith. She was loved by all and will be so dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald J. Hebert, Sr. of Broussard; a son, Donald “Donnie” Hebert, Jr. of Cade; two daughters, Brandi Nicole Hebert of New Iberia and Raven Renee’ Hebert and her husband Kyle Cantrell of Broussard; a brother, Cleveland James McGee; a sister, Margaret Romero, and six grandchildren, Hunter Abbey, Halle Harrison, Donovan Hebert, Bayleigh Hebert, Corie Ann Cantrell, and Cash Cantrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Cleveland McGee and Eunice Agnes Gautier Mcgee; two sisters, Elphy “Faye” Stutes and Dorothy Mae Miller Johnson; and two brothers, William Henry McGee and Rodman “Rocky” McGee.

The pallbearers will be Hunter Abbey, Carl Romero, James McGee, Kendall McGee, Tim Touchet & John Domingue.

Honorary pallbearers are Scott Hutchison, Hayden Hutchison and John Hayes Hutchison.
