Bertha Leblanc Guillotte

Loreauville– Funeral Services will be held for Mrs. Bertha LeBlanc Guillotte, age 89, on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 4:00PM at David Funeral Home of Loreauville with Deacon Chris Doumit officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 9:00AM until the service time. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 2:00PM.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Guillotte passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Maison Teche Nursing Home. She was a mother and grandmother to many, having owned and operated Maw Bertha’s Daycare for several years in Jeanerette. She also worked for Iberia Medical Center for 10 years in House Keeping. Mrs. Bertha was also the co-owner and operator of Cleaning Ladies Janitorial Service for 12 years.  Her most recent job was at the Corner Grocery, making sure everything was clean and in order.

Mrs. Bertha loved watching Judge Judy, Food Network and the Game Show Network. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed visiting the casino. What she enjoyed most in life was spending time with her family. She was a devout Catholic and would say her rosary every night.  Maw Bertha was generous, loving and kind and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Derouen and husband Brent of Loreauville; daughter-in-law, Julia Guillotte of Lafayette; grandchildren, Chad Guillotte and wife Hallie of Loreauville, Joshua Derouen and companion Sara Hart of Baton Rouge, Mandi Pooler and husband Brent of Broussard; great grandchildren, Shaw Guillotte and wife Mallory of Youngsville, Cameron Guillotte of Loreauville, Everett Pooler of Broussard, Collin Pooler of Broussard; great great grandsons, Owen and Drew Guillotte of Youngsville(that will carry on the Guillotte name); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Guillotte; parents, Wade and Ella Price LeBlanc; sister, Ella Mae LeBlanc; and son, Robert Guillotte.

The family would like to thank the Maison Teche Nursing Home staff and all of the physicians that cared for Mrs. Guillotte.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maw Bertha’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
