New Iberia– Funeral services will be held for Mr. Bernie Joseph Rose Jr., 78, on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:00AM at Beau Pre Memorial Park in Jeanerette with Pastor David Denton officiating. Inurnment will follow at Beau Pre.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 10:00AM until the time of the service.

Bernie J. Rose Jr. peacefully passed away at Maison du Monde. Born on July 1, 1945, in New Iberia, Bernie was a devoted husband and father. Alongside his father, Bernie Sr., he owned Bernie’s Dental Lab, until his father’s passing and has since run the company with his wife, Lynn.

In his youth, Bernie was an active member of the New Iberia Jaycees. He passionately supported and volunteered in New Iberia. He was also a charter member of B.O.M. Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Bernie's commitment to service extended to his membership at Highland Baptist Church.

Bernie's resilience was remarkable. Despite facing a ruptured brain aneurysm in 1997 and another in 2009, conditions from which few survive, Bernie defied the odds and lived another 27 years.

He is survived by his wife and partner, Lynn Landry Rose; his son, Bernie “Trey” Rose III and his wife Carrie; his grandchildren, Parrish Lopez, Jay and Ava Rose; his sister, Sylvia Bassett and her husband Bill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie Rose Sr. and Edith Dupuy Rose; and his daughter, Allison Lopez Bowen.

The family wants to extend heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers at Maison du Monde and Hospice of Acadiana.
