Bernice B. Hebert

New Iberia– A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Bernice B. Hebert, age 92, on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father ­­­­­Nathan Comeaux officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. at St.  Peter’s Catholic Church.

A native of Abbeville and resident of New Iberia, Bernice B. Hebert passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Iberia Medical Center.

Our dear mama passed away on Tuesday the 20th. She had a wonderful and full life. She loved working in her yard and planting flowers, traveling, dancing, driving her car, and being with her family. She was devoted to her church, and she always said she sang in her choir for 33 years, but we all think it was much longer than that. She loved to drive her friends to Church conferences.

She taught her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Morals to last a lifetime, her favorite saying was let your conscience be your guide. We will all miss her dearly as well as all who knew her.

Bernice is survived by her children, Denise Stubblefield (Thomas), David Hebert, Tim Hebert (Gail), and Kevin Hebert (Ginger); grandchildren, Jordan, John, Christopher, Thomas, Amy, Michael, Laura, Ryan, Scott, Joshua, Mindy, Katherine, Ben, Emily, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. Hebert; parents, James, and Bertha Dubois Bourque, and two grandchildren, Timothy Stubblefield, and Joseph Stubblefield.

The family would like to thank the staff of Landmark Nursing Home for the kindness and care they shared with their mother, Bernice.
