Barbara Wimberly Sorrel

New Iberia--A private memorial service will be held on a later date for Barbara W. Sorrel, 82, who passed away on Monday, October 19,2020, at 1 a.m. at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a loving mother and friend to all those who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, she was born to Solonge, Sr., and Margret Guesser Wimberly on September 20, 1938.

She is survived by her son, Solonge "Snooks" Sorrell, Jr (Donna) of New Iberia, and one grandson, Caleb Sorrel of New Iberia.

The family would like to thank the staff of New Iberia Manor South Nursing Facility and Iberia Medical Center for all their kindness and support.

To help keep the community safe we will honor the July 13, 2020, Louisiana Mandates.  All families and their guests are required to wear a face-covering while at the funeral home. Thank you for your understanding during this unprecedented time.
