Alvin John Leblanc

Lafayette – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Alvin “Pappy” John LeBlanc, 85, will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Casey Dugas officiating.  Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, February 6, 2022 beginning at 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 8:00AM until time of the services.

A native and resident of Lafayette, Mr. LeBlanc died at 11:55AM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his residence.  He proudly served his country in the US Navy and had a successful career in the oil field.  Mr. Alvin was a loving family man who loved Cajun music and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Darlene Hargrave LeBlanc of Lafayette; a son, Carlin LeBlanc and his wife Louise of Abbeville; two step sons, Shane LeBlanc and his wife Elizabeth of Lafayette and David LeBlanc and his wife April of Lafayette; a step daughter, Megan Bourque and her husband Nicholas of Duson; a brother, Francis LeBlanc; a sister, Dorothy East; two grandchildren, Cody Chandler and Shalin Landry; and seven great grandchildren, Jesse LeBlanc, Adelaide LeBlanc, Daxton LeBlanc, Tyce Bourque, Tristan Bourque, Peyton Bourque, and Tanner Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Donatile Trahan LeBlanc; a daughter, Rachel Pedigo, and a brother, Allen LeBlanc.

Serving as pallbearers will be Carlin LeBlanc, Shane LeBlanc, David LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc, Nicholas Bourque, and Brent Boutte.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jesse LeBlanc and Tyce Bourque.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
