New Iberia"Funeral services for Wayne Leroy Williams, 58, will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home. The Reverend Corey Endsley will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, and will continue on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Williams passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. in his New Iberia residence.
A native of Lamar, CO, Mr. Williams was a New Iberia resident since 1957. He was a former oilfield worker and supervisor, and was a member of the Assembly of God faith. Mr. Williams graduated from USL in 1981 with a Bachelor of General Studies degree, and in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Burton Williams of New Iberia; sons, Donnie L. Worsham of Austin, TX and Gary A. Worsham and wife, Jessica of New Iberia; granddaughter, Erin Marie Worsham of New Iberia; brother, Bobby Williams and wife, Cindy of Coteau; sister, DeWana Williams Barras and husband, Marvis of New Iberia; and nieces and nephews, Nicky Williams and her children, Cole and Brandi Prejean of New Iberia; Jason Williams and wife, Shawnee and their children, Jacob Williams and Caleb David of New Iberia, Billy Williams and son, Bailey Williams of New Iberia, Melissa Endsley and husband, Rev. Corey Endsley and their son, Jon-Marc Endsley of Corpus Christi, and DeEtta Leap and husband, Troy and their daughter, Karinne Leap of New Iberia.
Preceding Mr. Williams in death were his parents, Edwin Wayne and DeEtta Irene Smith Williams; and a brother, Earl W. Williams.
Serving as pallbearers are Troy Leap, Jay LaBiche, Jason Williams, Scotty Landry, Ben Flockton, and David Easter. Named as honorary pallbearers are Bobby Williams, Robert Burton, Marvis Barras, Johnnie Burton, Kenneth Glass, and Bryan Glass.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
