Lafayette - Memorial Services for Berton Joseph Courville, 67, will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at David Funeral Home in Broussard with Rev. Roland Fontenot officiating. The family requests a gathering of family and friends be observed at David Funeral Home from 12:00 noon on Tuesday, until the time of the Memorial Service. Bert was born on September 5, 1940 in Eunice, Louisiana and passed away at his residence in Lafayette on November 13, 2007. Bert graduated from SLI with a degree in Education and taught English at Loyola University for several years in New Orleans, then came to Lafayette where he was employed with Stuller Settings in sales for many years. He had been retired for about 10 years. His is survived by three brothers: Chester Courville and his wife, Jill of Anchorage, Alaska; Lester Courville and his wife Suzie of Eunice; and Herman Courville and his wife, Cindy, of Houma. Survivors also include his life long friend, Tom Walker of Lafayette, and 13 nieces and nephews. Burt will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Courville and Laura Thibodeaux Courville, both of Eunice; and one sister, Marylu Courville Clark and her husband Samuel Houston Clark and their son, Burt?s nephew, Samuel James Clark.
