New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for James Dale Carlin, 77, of New Iberia will be held on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Salvino Primor will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2006 from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Carlin passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 12:48 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of Erath, Mr. Carlin was a lifelong resident of the New Iberia area. He was employed at the Jefferson Island Salt Mine for 25 years, and then worked for the City of New Iberia for 15 years until his retirement in 1994. Lovingly called Pop by his grandchildren, Mr. Carlin was a devoted family man. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Touchet Carlin of New Iberia; mother, Nouia Goutierez Carlin of Erath; son, Terry Carlin and wife, Karen of New Iberia; grandson, Brett Carlin of New Iberia; and granddaughter, Cassie Carlin of New Iberia. Preceding Mr. Carlin in death was his father, Adolph Carlin. Serving as pallbearers are friends and family of Mr. Carlin. David Funeral Home of New Iberia has been entrusted with arrangements.
