New Iberia.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday March 28 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Mr. Freddy S. Pop Babineaux Age 89. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Father Salvino (Rubin) Primore and Rev. Mr. John Sarkies will officiate and conduct the services. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1982 Honor Guard. Visiting hours will be observed Monday March 27 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will reopen Tuesday at 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Monday March 27 at 6:30 PM. Mr. Babineaux was a native of Coteau and a resident of New Iberia. Mr. Babineaux was a retired carpenter. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and T.V. in general. He was very fond of his pets Tippy and Snowball . Mr. Babineaux was a veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Babineaux is survived by three sons, Eddie Dean Babineaux and his wife Jo Ann, Danny Babineaux, Sr. and his wife Charmaine, and Allen Dave Babineaux and his wife Gloria Jean all of New Iberia, three sisters, Isabelle B. Romero and Elise B. Gonsoulin both of New Iberia and Lena B. Delcambre of Lafayette and one brother Chester Babineaux of New Iberia. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Babin Babineaux, his parents Simon Babineaux and Alice Lopez Babineaux, and four brothers, Harry Babineaux, Willie Babineaux, J.D. Babineaux and George Babineaux, Sr. Serving as pallbearers will be, Allen Babineaux, Danny Babineaux, Sr., Danny Babineaux, Jr., Todd Babineaux, Eddie Babineaux, Jr., and Shane Myers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Eddie Babineaux, Sr., Dickie Estelle, and Shawn Rogers. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of funeral arrangements.
