Loving brother and uncle Services for Verness Neg Joseph Dugas, 84, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2006 at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mr. John Sarkies officiating. Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery in Loreauville. Visiting hours will be observed Monday, May 15, 2006 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at David Funeral Home. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dugas died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006, at New Iberia Manor North. Mr. Dugas was a grocery store clerk at Dugas Grocery for many years. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Mr. Dugas played accordion and enjoyed Cajun music. He was a lifelong resident of Daspit Road Community. He is survived by his two sisters, Ann D. Thibodeaux and Gladys Broussard; two nieces, Diana O. Stansbury and husband Norman, all of New Iberia, and Terry V. Robicheaux, of Breaux Bridge; five nephews, Curtis Oubre, of New Iberia, Roy Vincent Jr. and wife Cherry of Loreauville, Bobby Vincent and wife Tammy,Carol E. Broussard Jr., and Dale Broussard and wife Dawn, all of New Iberia; and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Mr. Dugas was preceded in death by his parents, ONeil and Ozea Chataignier Dugas; and two sisters, Irene Oubre and Agnes Vincent. Pallbearers will be friends and family members. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
