Lafayette " Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 10 AM at David Funeral Home of Lafayette for Gerald Eugene Groves, Sr., 63. Gerald was born in Deridder, La. on July 22, 1942 and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at 3:58 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Gerald retired from Penzoil where he contract labor through Baker Energy, Danes, Curole, Island Operating. He also worked part time for teaching Resources in Broussard, La. Chaplain Bruce Wolf, brother-In-Law, of the deceased will conduct the funeral service. He is survived by his wife, Judy Wolf Groves of Lafayette; two sons, Gerald Groves, Jr. and his fiance Billie White and her daughter Megan of Lafayette, and Robert Bob Groves and his wife Hollie of Broussard; a daughter, Wendellyn Wendy Stoufflet and her husband James Jim of Houma; his mother in law, Millie Wolf of Lafayette; brother in laws, William Wolf and his wife Laurelle of Bourg, and Bruce Wolf and his wife Joyce of Chauvin; sister in law, Pam Keller and her husband Robert Bobby of Luling, La; a niece, Virgina Lottinger of Houma; nephews, William of Erath, Gregory and Matthew of Burg, and John Keller of Thibedeaux; and two great nephews, Logan Wolf of Erath, and Trent Lottinger of Houma. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Austin and Christopher Stoufflet of Houma. He is preceded in death by his father, Audrey W. Groves. The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 3 PM till 7 PM and continue Wednesday, may 17, 2006 from 7 Am till time of service.
