Erath - Edmae B. Gilbert, 88, of Delcambre, passed away at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 01, 2006, in Abbeville, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, in Delcambre, with Rev. Herb Bennerfield as the Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. Born on February 12, 1918, Mrs. Gilbert, along with her husband, had owned the Sugar Bowl Grocery Store, in Delcambre. She had previously worked at the Jefferson Island Salt Mine, and enjoyed babysitting and cooking. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Migues and husband Darrell of Delcambre; sisters, Lona Bourque and Verdine Monteaux both of Delcambre; grandchildren, Tammy Landry of Erath, Adrian J. Migues of Delcambre; great grandchildren, Chelsea and Taylor Landry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Mosco J. Gilbert; parents, Lucien and Etta Soirez Bourque; sister, Natalie Delcambre; brothers, Minos Bourque and Dennis Bourque. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, from 9:30 AM until 10:00 PM at David Funeral Home in Erath. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service. David Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of the arrangements.
