A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Raymond V. Gaudin, the former Doris Alma Doerle, 84, of New Iberia will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Reverend Steve LeBlanc will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Gaudin passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 12:10 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Gaudin was a lay Carmelite member and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Gaudin enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, George Ray Gaudin and wife, Mary of Thibodaux and Garlynn G. Gaudin and wife, Pam of Youngsville; sister, Marguerite Escude of New Iberia; grandchildren, Brad Gaudin and wife, Cindy of Opelousas, Christie Morgan and husband, Justin of Houston, TX, Lisa Gaudin of New Iberia, Jennifer Shanahan of Lafayette, Tim Gaudin of Youngsville, Karen McIlvaine and husband, Chad of Thibodaux, and Kelli Gaudin of Thibodaux. Preceding Mrs. Gaudin in death are her husband of over 50 years, Raymond V. Gaudin; and parents, George B. and Ethel Allingham Doerle. Serving as pallbearers are friends and family of Mrs. Gaudin. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
