New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs Emil L. Reinhart, the former Merle Herring Tatum, 90, of New Iberia will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 12:30 PM in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Ed Downs will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2006 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.in David Funeral Home, and will continue on Sunday from 10:00 AM until service time. Mrs Reinhart passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 1:58 AM in a local hospital. A native of Jadie, OK, Mrs Reinhart had been a New Iberia residence since 1935. She sold Avon for over 7 years, and worked at Delcambre Grocery Store for 2 years during World War II. Mrs Reinhart was a member of The First Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she held many church offices. She was also a member of WMU for 6 years. Survivors include a son, Joe Dean Tatum and wife, Donna of Neodesha, KS; grandsons, Joey Dean Tatum, Jr. of Delcambre, John David Tatum of St. Martinville, and Kelly and Kerry Tatum of Neodesha, KS; and a niece, Lynn Gilchrist Scott of New Iberia. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. Preceding Mrs Reinhart in death are her husbands, Joe R. Tatum and Emil L. Reinhart; parents, Stephen and Ardenia Smith Caulter Herring; brothers James Earl Herring and Cecil Gerald Herring; and a sister, Marie H. Gilchrist. Serving as pallbearers are family and friends of Mrs Reinhart. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
