Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Newby L. LeBlanc, 85, will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 10:00AM with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in Erath on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, July 6, 2006 from 8:00AM until the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Mr. LeBlanc a native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Erath, LA. Died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at 3:30AM at his residence. Mr. Newby was the owner of LeBlanc & Dugas Hardware in Erath for over 25 years. After closing his business he was a hardware salesman for several years. A member of the 808 Tank Destroyers of Pattons 3rd Army, the American Legion Post 279 and a former member of the Knight of Columbus. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Toups and husband Wiltz Toups, Jr. of Erath, and Carolyn Montgomery and husband Michael Montgomery of Zachary; six grandchildren Charles Toups, John and his wife Nicole Toups, Eric and his wife Mikel Toups, Ted Toups and his fiance Megan Dubois, Joan and her husband Clifton Leonard, and Joseph Montgomery and his special friend Theresa Scardina,; nine great-grandchildren Alec Toups, Rene Toups, Jack Toups, Lane Toups, Julia Toups , Chandler Toups, Ann Renee Toups, Slae Leonard , Ethan Leonard; and a special thanks to his caregiver Inez Crowson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dora L. LeBlanc; his parents, Honore and Laurence Reaux LeBlanc, four brothers Wilton LeBlanc, Nolan LeBlanc, Ollie LeBlanc, Fred LeBlanc and one sister Anna Belle LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Charles Toups, John Toups, Eric Toups, Ted Toups, Joseph Montgomery and Clifton Leonard. David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling the arrangements.
